Couples Therapy:
Childhood Trauma Focus

Anyone who is or has been in a relationship knows how challenging and frustrating it is to find ourselves in patterns which cause tension, anger and pain. We may be aware of these patterns and yet be at a loss to change them.

It is difficult to change deeply rooted interactions which cause couples to hurt each other and block the intimacy that they are seeking. RRP (Relationship Recovery Program)' developed by Amanda Curtin, allows couples to gain appreciation of their own childhood trauma and how the trauma affects their interactions with their partners. This process occurs in the presence of and with the support of their partner. The program also helps each person gain understanding and compassion for their partners traumas and defenses. RRP offers a specific method of working on conflict which deepens understanding while helping to resolve issues in their relationship.
