Group:
6 Month Childhood Trauma Group

"Becoming a loving Inner Adult/Parent to our Inner Child is the key to a productive and joyful life, as well as to the ability to establish and sustain intimacy".
Margaret Paul,
Inner Bonding: Becoming a Loving Adult to Your Inner Child
Groups of people with a shared goal and similar histories can create together a safe and secure environment within which to explore the sensitive and overwhelming experience of childhood trauma. Sharing the process of discovery with other people "who get it" is powerfully validating and allows us to believe more in ourselves. Hearing the experiences of others broadens and deepens our understanding of our journey and gives perspective to our process.

RRP (Relationship Recovery Program) developed by Amanda Curtin, and the six month protocol, expanded by Patrick Teahan, provide a valuable way to "get our feet wet" and begin to explore childhood trauma. It is both a "stand alone" group and also serves as an introduction to the more extensive RRP groups which explore our childhood trauma and its impact, in greater depth.
The six month psychoeducational group is for adults who have experienced or wonder if they have experienced childhood trauma. The group is a safe place to explore this issue and the ramifications it may be having on our lives. It is an environment which encourages awareness of our current belief systems and ways we have developed to manage the challenges of life. The support of others increases our understanding of their origin and impact on us today.
